Sorry

Sorry I haven't been around. Between my family and work I haven't had time. Family always comes first so I had to slow down on the blog. I love blogging don't get me wrong, but it just became overwhelming. This blog will now be more personal. It won't be just deals. I'll share about my family and kids. I'll post when I can. I love all of my readers, and I love that your all still with me. Thank you so much! Again i'm truly sorry.

Sit Down Sunday!

The girl in the green shirt is my sister Cheryl. The lady next to me is my grandma. Then of course Mike, the kids and I.

Things in our household have been crazy. Sorry for the lack of updates and deals. I have been working a lot of 14 hour days and it's only going to be getting worse. We have construction going on at work in the kitchen. Imagine working in a kitchen in a hospital and it being split in half. It's a bit crazy. Takes you twice as long to do something. In about 5 weeks our dishwasher will be taken out and new one put it. That means we'll be getting some GOOD overtime, just in time for Christmas :)

The kids are doing very good. Ryan is enjoying Kindergarten. The first couple of weeks he had a problem with a couple of boys hitting him and swearing at him. But with some talks with the teacher and Ryan being moved in class we fixed it. He loves school. He's very good about doing his homework. He actually wont do anything else until his homework is done.

Rachel is going to be enrolled in pre-k within the next month. She's also wanting to do dance too. She loves anything to do with dance and music.

Reid went last week for his 2 month check up. Little bugger is 12lbs and very healthy. We actually think he's teething already. He's constantly chewing on his hands and his cheeks are getting red as if he's going to start.

Mike aka husband is moving up in the world of Wal-Mart. He's been offered a position in another department. Which lands him full time hours and a $2-$3 raise! Things are finally looking up for us!

I've almost got a method of updating my blog while i'm at work. I'm just working it out :)

What were you doing on 9/11/01?

That seems like the biggest question right now. I can't believe it's been 10 years. It still seems like it was yesterday. I was 15 years old and a freshmen in high school. Everyday I got on a bus and headed to vo-tech. It was like a training center. I was on the bus headed there when the first plane hit. We didn't know anything about it. When we walked into our class the teacher already had the TV on and we just sat there all morning watching it. I'll never forget the emotion I felt when the second plane it. It's a feeling you can't describe. We were only at vo-tech for the first half of the day. By the time we got back to the high school, news was flying around. Teachers didn't teach that day, instead we just watched TV. I remember the days after this horrible act. It was so sad watching all these family members tell stories about their loved ones. I found myself crying on occasion. I was young and had no idea what to think of it all.

10 years later I have a 5 year old son who is in Kindergarten, a 4 year old daughter who will be attending pre-k and a 3 month old son. All three of them will be learning all about this. My husband and I can try explaining to them what went on during those moments, but it will be very hard having them understand the feelings we had on that horrible day.

Some day I hope to make it to New York to see what it has become since then.

Lesson Learned!

Today I went to Price Chopper to pick up some formula for Reid, since we have to suplement. I went for ONLY formula, so I didn't have my binder or ANY policies with me. I went to the check out to use my $5 off Enfmail coupon. It beeps, which doesn't make sense because I used it there last week. So the cashier calls a manager over, and instantly I knew I was going to have problems just by her attitude. She takes it to the store manager and comes back and says "We don't accept printable internet coupons or coupons over $5" I was livid, I used it at that EXACT store before with no problems. Knowing I didn't have ANY of my policies with me, I walked out taking my coupon and leaving my purchases.

I instantly got on the phone with my husband and had him look up their policy for me. Which states "We gladly accept internet printed coupons. The same manufacturer and store coupon rules above apply to all internet printed coupons." and "We will not accept "free product" internet printed manufacturer coupons. The value of an internet printed coupon may not exceed $5.00."

By this time i'm fuming. I get the store number from my husband and call and ask to speak with the store manager. I explain the situation and she remember the coupon. I told her she may want to educate herself and her employees on the store policy. She GLADLY told me she checks the website several times a day and has NEVER seen a coupon policy or knew of one existing. Since I as a consumer found the policy just fine, it makes me wonder about their training.

Lesson to be learned ALWAYS bring the coupon policy with you REGARDLESS if your just running in the store to purchase one item with one coupon.

Below I have the links to some stores coupon policy. If you would like to see your store policy and its not there, let me know and i'll get it for you.

Please note: I am in NO way bashing Price Chopper, I am simply stating my bad experience and opinion.

Birthday's

Sorry I haven't been posting a lot. It's been pretty stressful here. I haven't gone back to work yet. But i'll save you guys on the ridiculous excuse they gave me. I'm however, working on Weds and i'm looking forward to it. I love my kids and I love being home, but I need a little break. We live in Kansas City. My WHOLE family lives in Michigan. My husband and I haven't made friends that aren't co-workers, simply because we don't go out and do anything. Our definition of fun is going grocery shopping LoL! My mom is moving down here in September, so her and I will be able to go shopping and I won't be rushed all the time. She's actually the one that got me into using coupons. She's done it my whole life. Her rule was always "If I don't have a coupon were not buying it" (To an extent).
I should be back to posting soon! My blog is going to be getting a makeover this week as well! I'll be featuring some new things too! If you guys have any ideas of what you would like to see, let me know :) I'm up for suggestions!

PS. I'm turning 25 on the 18th! I can't believe Reid is going to be 8 weeks old on Thursday! Rachel also, turns 4 on the 13th. I'm starting to feel old!

Five Question Friday! 8/5/11

1. Do you have siblings and are you close with them?
I have one sister. We are close. She's always there for me and i'm always there for her. She's the best Aunt my kids could as for!

2. Would you rather be slightly UNDER weight or slightly OVER weight?
Since I've struggled with weight for awhile, right now i'd say under weight. I did loose 50+ lbs when I was pregnant with Reid, but i'm still considered over weight.

3. What's your favorite State Fair food to splurge on?
ELEPHANT EARS!

4. What are your thoughts on your kid(s) going to school in a few weeks?
Since my oldest is going to Kindergarten, it's bittersweet. He LOVES school.

5. Pool or Ocean?
Definitely POOL. Oceans scare me. I've only ever walked in one because i'm afraid of all the bad things that could happen.

Six Weeks Postpartum!

This is my last weekend home with the kids. I go to my 6 week post postpartum appointment tomorrow. There's no reason she wont release me to go back to work. Now the catch is if they'll let me come back. When I went on maternity leave I didn't qualify for FMLA due to not being employed for a full year. My employer is now saying that my position may be eliminated. So, we get to deal with that. I'm on the fence if I want it to be eliminated or not. If it is, it'll give me more time to spend with the kids and be more involved with their schooling activities  If it isn't we'll have a steady income again. So I have both pros and cons for it.
Were going back up to Michigan at the end of the month! Both of my older kids (Ryan and Rachel) are in my friends wedding. Rachel's excited to get to play dress up. Ryan however, hates going to Michigan ever since he got car sick. He was excited to wear the shiny shoes when we showed him them at Men's Warehouse. This trip to Michigan is exciting because my husband is able to go. We went in June for a week so everyone could meet Reid(he was 3weeks old at the time) and Mike was unable to go because of work. Mike hasn't been to Michigan in a year. The kids and I have been a couple of times and everyone is ready to see Mike, especially his parents.

Later this week there will be a new and exciting giveaway's up :) I just have to type up the review! I'll say this, it's kid-friendly :)

Crying Baby.

I am going to start doing more personal post. Not just deals and coupons all the time.

Tonight for instance my son Reid who is 5 weeks old, has been crying NON stop. Out of the three of my children he is the first i've breastfed and cloth diapered. I never thought eating a little bit of spicy food would start a 2 hour crying fit. Guess what I WONT be eating from now on! I called the doctor because let's face it, you can't listen to crying until Monday morning. She said to try a different formula(soy based). He gets some formula due to me not producing enough. He gets more breastmilk than formula though. She also suggested if we wanted to, to try gas drops. Seeing as my husband works at Wal-Mart and I just left that place, I decided we would wait the LONG 3.5hrs until he came home with new formula and gas drops. Luckily Reid fell asleep in my arms. I made the brave move to put him in the swing since he LOVES being in a moving motion during the day when he sleeps. So currently he is sleeping in the swing and hopefully will last 30 more minutes until my husband gets home.
